The First Editions - Craigellachie 15y, 2007, 56.3%, 561b
A 2007 Craigellachie single malt from independent bottler Hunter Laing that was matured in a single sherry butt for 15 years, before being bottled in 2022 as part of its First Editions series. Aromas of honey, dried fruit, aromatic citrus and chocolate sauce fill the nose, complemented by notes of smoked ham, almonds, ginger and peppery spice throughout the palate.
Natural colour and at cask strength. A pure whisky as you can get, direct from barrel to bottle.
The First Editions was set up by Andrew Laing of Hunter Laing and focuses on mostly older ages of single cask bottlings of whisky that he chooses. Hunter Laing was created when Douglas Laing split down the middle in 2013 and the two brothers Fred and Stewart went their separate ways although both stayed in the world of whisky.
