About Us

Welcome to Caskells, Hong Kong’s whisky specialist shop and family-owned business. Since our establishment in 2016, we’ve been on a mission to share our passion for exceptional whiskies, with a special focus on Independently Bottled (I.B) whiskies sourced from across Scotland.

We are small family business that formed Jon Dory Limited in 2012. Selling scottish seafoods then transitioned to whiskies after we discovered the wonderful nature of IB scotch whiskies. We set up the shop brand Caskells in 2016. We have been the distributor for Glencairn in HK & SEA since around then too and got introduced to many more boutique scotch whisky suppliers through Glencairn.

We have had shops in TST in the past & have a current shop in Wan Chai.

We (John Rhodes) helped co-found the first HK Whisky Festival with Intercontinental Grand Stanford, inviting many industry friends form Scotland to support this event when it first launched in 2016.

We take pride in offering an extensive selection of single malt, single cask, and cask strength whiskies, as well as a curated range of whisky-related accessories. Each single cask whisky we offer is truly unique—no two barrels are ever the same, even when crafted by the same distillery.

Whisky Cask Investment and Industry Expertise

We can offer whisky cask sales for private buyers or for private bottling projects. We have successfully bottled 20+ cask projects and imported into Hong Kong for our clients. We do not push the investment aspect nor guaranteed returns unlike many gurus firms that float around in the industry.

Caskells, a brand under Jon Dory Limited, is also the official importer and distributor of a carefully selected range of products in Hong Kong. Every whisky we sell is officially registered with Hong Kong Customs, imported through official channels, and fully documented for authenticity (yes we really do go through all the CO documents and Age certs registered with HKCustoms for every single SKU whisky product we bring in). If we don't import it ourselves, we would be working with local distributors for respective brands. 

Our directly imported and distributed brands include:

  • Caskells, Adelphi, Ardnamurchan, The Kinship, The First Editions, Hepburn's Choice, Murray McDavid, Glean Mor Spirits, Edinburgh Whisky, Woodrows of Edinburgh, The Glencairn Glass & Glencairn Crystal products, Edwin Blyde, and Marlborough.

We also work with Hong Kong's local distributors for other brands of scotch and world whiskies. Buying from us means you can sip confidently, knowing you’re enjoying the real deal.
