Murray McDavid Benchmark Series presents this Glentauchers 9-Year-Old Speyside single malt, distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2024. After initial maturation in American oak, this whisky was finished in prestigious St. Julien Bordeaux red wine casks, imparting elegant dark fruit and tannic notes. The nose features ripe blackberries, redcurrants, and dark cherries with toasted oak and vanilla. The palate offers blackcurrant jam, plums, and milk chocolate balanced by wine tannins and cinnamon. The finish lingers with red wine-soaked fruits and dark chocolate. Bottled at cask strength 52.1% ABV, limited to 1,326 bottles.
