Master of Malt - Cambus 34y 1990, 47.2%, Single Grain, 70cl, 259B

A rare and precious single grain Scotch whisky from the now-silent Cambus distillery. Founded in 1806 by John Moubray in Cambus, Clackmannanshire, it played a big role in whisky history. The distillery closed in the early 1990s, making its remaining casks highly sought after. Distilled in 1990, this whisky enjoyed a mighty 34-year slumber, beginning in a refill barrel and finishing in a rum barrel for a wonderfully waxy profile laden with notes of waffles and honeyed melon.

• Nose: Waxy, with honeyed melon, waffles, and gentle tropical fruit.
• Palate: Silky and sweet — orchard fruit, creamy vanilla, and warm rum-barrel spice.
