We love peated whiskies from Caol Ila. The peated malts used aren't overly intense compared to some Laphroaig or Ardbeg expressions, still strong but more balanced with other flavour notes. Caol Ila used to produce a lot of liquid for the blending industry...
This 10 year old whisky is from the Islay region, Caol Ila distillery. Bottled from two ex-bourbon barrels, flavour notes include: pear, iodine, lemon, citrus, peat. A medicinal style, peated whisky, with some mossy/green notes.
Bottled at 46%. Only 639 bottles produced.
