Introduction

The Isle of Arran distillery was founded in 1995 at Lochranza on Scotland's Isle of Arran, reviving legal whisky production on the island after more than 150 years. Known primarily for its light, fruity unpeated single malts, Arran has periodically produced limited peated spirit that showcases a different, smokier side of the distillery's character.

This is a peaty treat from the Isle of Arran indeed. This single malt was distilled in 2014 and matured in a single cask for 10 years in a 1st fill bourbon American Standard Barrel, allowing the clean, sweet influence of fresh American oak to complement the peated malt. Finally, independently bottled by Adelphi at a generous 57.1% ABV.
