Omar - Black Queen Wine Barrel, Cask Strength

Omar's Black Queen Wine Barrel is an under appreciated whisky in our opinion. The whisky was matured in bourbon casks and then re-casked into ex-wine barrels that were used to make Omar's Black Queen Wine - a dark sweet wine. Similar in flavour profile to a sherry cask whisky.

Omar is a distillery near Taichung, Taiwan. A great place to visit and a nice proper little distillery with very friendly people. They have a range of cask strength whiskies which are well worth looking at, in particular their peated and bourbon cask ones.
