This Highlands distillery is in fact called Speyside distillery!

Almost a secret distillery with no presence under its own name. A few labels have been produced from it and a lot of its malts have done into various blends including a whisky brand in Bhutan.

It starts off with a strong kick, spicy gingery rush to the nose, leads into a complex flavour profile with nuts, cereal, mint/menthol, cocoa in there. We highly recommend adding a splash of water, it does quite nicely and rounds it out.

Natural colour and at cask strength. A pure whisky as you can get, direct from barrel to bottle.

The First Editions was set up by Andrew Laing of Hunter Laing and focuses on mostly older ages of single cask bottlings of whisky that he chooses. Hunter Laing was created when Douglas Laing split down the middle in 2013 and the two brothers Fred and Stewart went their separate ways although both stayed in the world of whisky.

Hunter Laing also now has Ardnahoe distillery on Islay with one of the best views ... weather permitting... looking over at the isle of Jura.
