Adelphi Selection - Caol Ila 7y 2016, Olo HHD, 58.5% , 256b

A single cask single malt from Caol Ila, distilled in 2016 and matured for 7 years in a first-fill oloroso sherry hogshead. Independently released by Adelphi in 2023, with a total outturn of 256 bottles.

• Nose: The nose is a battle between the cooked meat peat smoke of the typical Caol Ila and the sherry cask - an Olorosso hogshead. The result is a beautiful aroma that travels half way across the room.

• Palate: The mouthfeel is quite chewy - the taste is a big hit of peat - smoked meats, with a spice and marizpan hit from the cask, but married together well. 

• Finish: It goes on for ages with a lingering hit of the peat - think ashtray - with a dash of spice. Warming and beautiful.
