This waxiness — often compared to snuffed candles, beeswax, and oilskin jackets — is created through an unusual production quirk involving oils that accumulate in the feints receiver. When the distillery once cleaned these deposits away, the waxy character disappeared, so they now carefully preserve it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDistilled in 2015. Matured in a refill Oloroso butt, this 9-year-old combines that signature waxiness with dried fruit richness.
